Kirlian photography is a type of contact print photography, related to high voltage. From 1939 on, Kirlian created a discovery namely electrography and corona discharge photography sometimes just referred to as ‘Kirlian’, photography and energy involved all use roots in photography. Kirlian claimed his work showed supernatural auras, claimed to resemble an outline of the human in the shape of a halo. He proposed that there existed a life force due to the outline images, which were shown through his studies that surround all living beings. He claimed it to be similar to cutting part of a leaf off whereby one could still see the whole pattern of the leaf even though some of it was missing.
Researchers in universities though claim that the exact reproduction came from careful etching in the glass that was used in the leaf-cutting experiment. Both living and artificial material would show up on a Kirlian photograph, such as coins. Skeptics though find it hard to believe that through photography one can see and analyze one’s aura and the associated energies.
It is a form of alternative treatment due to the lack of scientific support and evidence to do with Kirlian photography. It has stayed away from mainstream medical history and is largely practiced under the private sector. Skeptics believe that if an image is being produced, it is simply that and not someone’s aura or halo. It is hard to find evidence to suggest otherwise and therefore has been criticized heavily for fooling people into thinking in this way. Some people are true supporters of it and believe it really works. It may do for some but it may not for others. It is important to remember that this type of treatment cannot be used as a replacement for known medical treatments, especially for serious diseases.
If you require further information, consult your doctor or physician first to find out what kind of advice they may have. It is highly recommended to research this type of treatment before one undergoes any type of study. The Internet is an excellent source for finding out specific information.
Kirlian photography has been advertised through popular culture such as music, books and movies. It is the strange paranormal factor involved in Kirlian photography that has made it a favorite for scary and paranormal media whereby people are fascinated with anything that does not quite make sense i.e. paranormal activity.
